Wacky Wednesday Math's

Hey guys and welcome back to my blog,
I hope you guys have been having a good week so far. It has been really hot over the past days and if you want to, go outside for a walk, on your lunch break so then you get the vitamins that you need. Even though there are only three days in our week this week, I decided to show you what I did on Wednesday for my Maths task. Yesterday we started learning about coordinates. We had three tasks to do and we had to put the evidence on a slide so that our teacher knows that we actually understand coordinates. Then we had to make a small place out of squares and then write letters on each corner to show the different coordinates.
That's how my evidence slide turned out like. I really liked Wednesdays activity because it was really fun, something different and kinda challenging at the same time because I haven't really learnt about coordinates before. The links that I used to access the coordinate games are:
You should really have a go at these games if you want. They are really helpful if you want to learn about coordinates. Other than that, I hope you have a good restful day and go for a walk outside to get some fresh air. I thought these websites were really helpful to me. I hoped you liked my blog post today and hope you got to know and learn more about coordinates and grides while reading my blog post. How's your week going so far? Do you like being in Quarantine more than you like being at school. See you next blog post!!

Fun Friday activity

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog,
Yay! It's Friday and no more school until next week, although I really do like going on the calls in the morning to catch up with my friends and teachers. Since our teachers were being really nice today, they decided to give us some fun activities to try. I thought this was such a good idea so we wouldn't have to work as hard as we do on normal days. There were around 6 activities for us to have a go at. Also, there were three activities in each different colour. There were two colours and an American football task. We had to do at least one from each colour, and I decided to do Turquise first.

The task that I decided to do first was creating emoji Idioms. First, we had to go to a link which was filled with sayings so than it would be easier for us to create the Emoji Idioms. Then we had to get the different emojis to fit in with the sayings from the site. I decided to do two, one long one and a short one. These are the emojis that I used...

  1.  +
  2. ++++

It was really fun to make since I haven't tried this activity before. You should try and work out what the sayings are from each Emoji Idiom. Overall I enjoyed this activity, and I defiantly will try this again soon in my own time. Since it is Anzac day soon, I'm going to make some poppies because that is another task from another colour. But if I don't post the poppies before Anzac day, I just want to wish you all the best for Anzac day and remember all the people who died at the war. See you next blog post!!

Have you tried doing this activity before? Have you made any poppies or done any baking for Anzac day??

Smart Scarecrow??

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog,
I hope you are all doing alright in Quarantine and not getting too bored. I have been managing to keep myself busy with schoolwork and going for walks occasionally. Today is another day of learning so I have got another blog post to share with you. It's another literacy one but over the weeks that we have off and are doing learning from home, I will defiantly show you what I have been up to in my Maths group. Today's character is the scarecrow from since my literacy group has started to read this book during Quarantine.

The poor Scarecrow doesn’t think he’s very smart. But you know what!? He is. What does it mean to have a ‘Brain’?Does it need to mean just that you are smart?

That is what we had to answer. We had to write a few sentences or a paragraph to show the teacher that we really understand what smart means to us. We also had to write a quote and write down what that quote actually means. This is my opinion on what having a brain means...

In my opinion, to have a brain it means that you aren’t thinking before you do things. Usually, if people have a brain they have the ability to learn and understand things and to solve problems. It also means that you make the right decisions at the right time, but if you don’t have a brain it means that you are making wrong decisions at the wrong time. ”Action is the real measure of intelligence” Napoleon Hill.

I think that the quote means that you think or use your brain before you act or speak.
So that's what I think to have a brain means. I really enjoyed this activity because we got to find a quote and we got to write our own opinion on what it means to have a brain. What are your opinions on having a brain?? Do you think that your opinion is the same as mine?? Thanks for reading my blog and taking the time out of your day to read it. I will see you next blog post.

Wizard of Oz Summary

Hi, Everyone and welcome back to my blog,
I hope you all are staying safe and not getting too bored with this Quarantine. It is now week 5 and I'm getting kind of bored. But last week the teachers started to set us tasks for so that way we won't get that bored when we are home. We got set tasks for Maths and literacy. Shaw literacy started to read a book called "The Wizard of Oz",  and I thought that was really cool because it has a movie and a book for us to read. Yesterday's task was to complete a chapter summary for the chapters 1-4, we had to write a key event, the key characters and a quote from each of those chapters. This s what I put for each of the chapters...

Chapter 1: Key event- Dorothy's house got swept up by a cyclone. Key Characters-Dorothy, Toto, Aunt Em, Wicked Witch, Munchkins. Quote-"There's a cyclone coming, Em," he called to his wife. "I'll go look after the stock." Then he ran toward the sheds where the cows and horses were kept.

Chapter 2:Key event-Dorothy got the silver shoes. Key Characters-Dorothy, Toto, the Witch of the North, Munchkins. Quote-"LET DOROTHY GO TO THE CITY OF EMERALDS"

Chapter 3:Key event-Dorothy saves the scarecrow. Key Characters-Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow. Quote-"They surely will never do for a long journey, Toto," she said. And Toto looked up into her face with his little black eyes and wagged his tail to show he knew what she meant.

Chapter 4:Key event-The journey on the road through the forest. Key Characters-Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, farmer. Quote-"I think I'll make the other a little bigger,'" said the farmer. And when the second eye was done I could see much better than before. Then he made my nose and my mouth. But I did not speak, because at that time I didn't know what a mouth was for. I had the fun of watching them make my body and my arms and legs; and when they fastened on my head, at last, I felt very proud, for I thought I was just as good a man as anyone.

It took me about 10-20 minutes to get the information that I needed, to show the teacher that I understand the book. This we have to read chapters 5, 6, 7 and 8. That will be really easy for me because I love to read in my own time. Have you read the Wizard of Oz? Let me know how you are going in Quarantine. Thanks for reading my blog post in your own time. See you next time.

Wicked witch Anjelika

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog,

My learning from home is fun but at the same time boring because I don't have my friends to talk to at morning teas and Luch times. For today's post, I'm going to be sharing with you a witch that I designed for today's literacy task. First, we had to draw a witch that would match their description that we wrote. It was really fun to match the description that we wrote with the witch that we drew. Here are some photos of the witch that I drew:

Anjalika is wearing a full face of deep green. Her black, black hat is tilted to the left side. Her bluey, purple hair drops just past her unshown shoulders. Angelika's nightgown was worn every night and day since she was 1 year old. He arms are longer than her legs since she doesn’t have any. The lower part of her body hardly exists.

One cold winter day, Anjalika was sitting on the side of the road when an unknown fella picked her up and without any announcement, she disappeared in seconds. Soon after she found herself in a small flowery cottage. She went inside but there was no one there. Then found a bottle of milk and drunk a litre...
This is the description that I wrote about my witch Angelika. It was really fun and easy to do. I like drawing and getting out of my comfort zone, so this was the perfect activity to do for me. I hope you liked today's post. I'll be keeping you updated on how I'm doing. But I hope you all are staying safe and entertained in your quarantine bubbles. See you next week when I post a new blog post.

The Wikard Wizard of Oz Similarities

Hello and Welcome back to my blog,
Today's activity in literacy was to put down the similarities to the Wizard of Oz. First, we had to think of at least one movie and start to think of what some similarities between the two movies were. We had to do at least 3 similarities between the two movies but I could think of way more. I chose the movie Narnia because it is quite similar to the Wizard of Oz and I wanted to try something different to everybody else.

It was really fun to do and think of the different similarities between the two movies. These were the links that I put into my slide Narnia Trailer and The Wizard of Oz Trailer. You should go check them out if you haven't seen the movies already. Have you watched any of these movies? If you have let me know what your favourite part was from either of them because I really want to know. See you next blog post.

Properties of Shapes

Hi everyone,
For my first blog post of Term 2, I decided to show you what I did yesterday for my maths task. Each day in maths we have to complete a task up to our own standard. In my maths group, we did the properties of shapes. First, we had to find some different sized shapes and with different numbers of edges, sides and vertex. Next, we had to find how many sides, edges and the vertex that was on the shape. I found this quite challenging and fun to do at the same time. The objects I found were an old literacy book from last year, a glass, a deck of card packet and a television remote.

This is how it turned out. You can see the outlined lines which are in red because that is where I found the edges, sides and vertex are. I hoped you liked yesterday's task that I blogged today.  And I hope that you had a safe and fun time off in the holidays while in your quarantine bubble. Have you done or started any tasks yet? Have you had any online classes? See you next blog post.
