My Sestina

Kiaora Bloggers,
Today in Literacy, my literacy group has been writing a Sestina poem. This is my Sestina poem for New Zealand writing. We will be sending it up to a school in Hamilton called Fairfield Intermediate. We are really looking forward to reading theirs and finding out what the students did for their poem. We had to write six lines with only 6 random words in it. The theme was you're going on a journey.

This is my Sestina:
Mr Pink Foot with two heads
I nearly got ran over sadly
My aunt Lucy and her daughter
A pool full of frozen raspberry
Wanted to get away from school
I hate bananas but love popcorn

The rules were, you need to have something that you saw, something that you remember, people or the person you are with, a wonderful imagined thing that didn't actually happen, a reason for going on a journey. Hope you liked my Sestina poem, is there anything I can improve on? Have you written a Sestina poem before and are you doing this New Zealand writing that I'm doing as well?

  1. Kia Ora Hannah,
I love how much information and effort you have put into this blog post! Why did you choose the name 'Mr Pink Foot'? Maybe next time, you can explain your poem a bit more. Overall I really enjoyed your poem and I look forward to seeing your next blog post!
