Gentle Global word art

Kia ora bloggers,
Yas we are finally in the second week of school and it is nearly over. Throughout this term, the Toroa hub is learning all about the world and the impact the Corona Virus has done to us. On Monday we started to learn and find out what the impacts were on the world. Next, we then had to create a word art on all the impacts we think corona has formed. I decided to have hands as my shape because I thought that was the appropriate shape for this occasion because of all the kids and adults not allowed to go to school and work. I have around 15 global impacts that I've decided to put in my word art.
I think it is really creative and cool to look back on when I wanna know about the global impacts on the world during this time. I like all of the colours that I have incorporated into this word art because it makes the design looks fun to look at. I really like what we are doing for Inquiry this term and will be doing for the rest of term 2. It's a really fun and cool way to learn about what is happening in the world right now, during this horrible time.

There are a lot of different Global issues and they have absolutely different meanings. I really liked how it turned out and I love the website that I used to create this art piece. I have used this website a couple of times but I haven't used it for a while now. I hope you have had a good week and are ready to start on Monday with a smart and happy brain.

Have you guys used Word art before? Did you like how my word art turned out? You guys should try this website out, it is really fun and a really cool way to represent and show what you're learning. Thanks for reading my blog post for today! Stay safe and I'll see you next blog post.

Full of fun, week 6 tasks

Kia ora Bloggers
We are finally back at school and are able to go anywhere we wish since Thursday of last week. When I got back this week, it took me a while to get used to the change but then it was really cool. We started back at our normal roster on Monday. It is now a week into level 2 and I'm super glad that we can go back to school and get fast foods. Today you're going to be reading what I have done for my literacy and numeracy this week.

For literacy this week, Shaw literacy had to start a website for our Wizard of Oz Essay. We have got 3-4 weeks to complete our website and then our literacy teacher is going to mark it in e-asstle gradings. I really like the photo that I chose, and there will be other photos in the different bars. I didn't get much done this week because I didn't have the information that I needed for the specific symbols on the top right of the screenshot. Here is a little sneak peek in what my website looks likes so far...

You guys should watch the movie or read the book about the Wizard of Oz. Throughout the next 3-4 weeks, I will of hopefully finished my website and allow you at it to get some inspiration and find out what I'm doing in a week to come.

The next subject activity that I'm going to be showing you what I did is numeracy. I really like numeracy so this activity was really fun to work out and complete. We got introduced to a digital site called Kaggle or Python. It's basically a calculator but it can work out fractions and other hard and complicated problems. We had ten questions to put on Kaggle to show that we know how to use it and to get used to using it. Here is how it turned out...

It was really fun to do and really easy especially on the first time trying it out. I'm really good at doing time tables so I found this really easy to pick up on.

Have you started back at your subjects yet? Do you like learning about what I do on a normal weekday? I really like doing school work. This week was really fun and exciting for me because I got to reunite with my friends and teachers. I also got to see my extended family at the weekend because we went down to level two. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read and access my blog. Stay safe and healthy! see you next blog post.

Thanks Hannah

Week 5 Activities

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog,
Yay! We are finally going back to school after 7 weeks off in quarantine. I'm really excited to be seeing my friends and Teachers again. Today I'm going to be sharing with you an activity that I did for each of my subjects. They were Math, Literacy and for a Technology task. First, I'm going to be showing you my literacy one since that is the first subject I do in the morning.

How does the character of OZ differ from the book in the movie?
Is OZ GOOD? Or is he Bad? Explain your answer

Does OZ manipulate the munchkins in order to stay in control? Explain

What would you do if given the powers of Oz? Explain
These are the questions I used to complete the activity. Here are my work and opinions...
I think this activity was really fun to do and it gave me some ideas of what to rethink happened in the book.

My next subject of the day was Maths. Here is my favourite task that I did last week. We had to answer the math equations and since I love math this was really fun to do as well. Here it is...
I hope you can see my working out but here it is. The next task was a technology task, so I decided to make a pizza from scratch. This was really fun to do and a little challenging as well. We also had to make a pizza box. Here is my final outcome...
I decided to put onion, ham and a load of cheese on it because they are my favourite pizza toppings.

I hoped you liked this blog post and enjoyed reading what I have done in the past week. I hope you have a good week at school and have fun reuniting with your friends. These activities were really fun to do and really creative from my mind aswelll. What have you guys been up to in the past week? I'm really excited to find out. Are you excited for school and what is your favourite subject? See you next blog post.

Weekly Oz Activites

The Wizard of Oz on iTunesHi everyone and welcome back to my blog,
Wow, we just finished our 4th week of quarantine!! We should be very thankful for the hot weather there's been because it could change to thunder any day before we know it. I have enjoyed being home, but I'm really starting to get bored because I haven't got any of my friends to talk to. There have been some literacy activities set for us through the days of the week, so I'm going to show you what I have done with the time of my week in Literacy. As you know by now, Shaw Literacy has been reading and focusing on a book called "The Wizard Of Oz". I finished a couple of days ago and I really enjoyed reading it. This week we were focusing on the different themes of the book.

Friendship, Good vs Evil, Dreams & Hopes and Disappointment were our themes for this book. we had to answer the questions that our teacher put up for us so that he knows we understand about what we are reading. I will be sharing with you what I thought each of these questions meant and show you that I understand.

Friendship

1. What do you think is the greatest act of friendship in the book?
2. Why do you think Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Lion bond so quickly?
3. How do Dorothy and the Lion comfort each other when they're captured by the Wicked Witch?

Good vs Evil
1. What does the wizard do to help people? Name at least one example.
2. The Scarecrow and the tin man kill the Wicked Witch of the West's crows, wolves, and bees, and the Lion kills a giant spider. Why do you think they're still described as "good" characters?
3. When Dorothy kills the Wicked Witch of the West, she says she's "very sorry indeed." (12.82) Do you believe her? Why or why not?

Dreams & Hopes
1. What do the dreams of the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Lion all have in common?
2. In what way does Dorothy's dream differ from the dreams of her friends?
3. Do you think that dreams come true in the Land of Oz? Explain your answer.

Disappointment

1. Why do you think that Dorothy is able to move past discouraging situations so quickly?

2. Describe a situation in the book where disappointment leads to a new opportunity.

3.What coping mechanisms do the characters draw on to deal with disappointments as they arise? Name at least two and describe the situations in which they were used.

As you can see I have put in a lot of effort to do this blog post. Overall I really enjoyed and tried my best at the tasks that were set for me. The questions were really interesting to discover and that gave me a chance to remember the book and the different times that different thins happened in. I will be watching the movie soon and I'm still figuring out if it would be like I was picturing it in my head. I hoped you liked this weeks blog post and enjoyed reading about what I've done in Literacy throughout the week. I'm interested to know what you guys are up to. Do you like Quarantine? Are you getting bored with it?
